Things That Go Bump in the Night Sugar Cookies

What you'll need:

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 c unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 c all purpose flour
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 tbs milk
  • powdered sugar, for rolling out dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • icing

Mix all of the ingredients except the powdered sugar in a large bowl.  Once the dough is formed, wrap up in waxed paper and put it in the refrigerator for two hours to chill it for easy handling and cutting.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Sprinkle surface with powdered sugar and roll dough using rolling pin.  Cut dough using Halloween mini cookie cutters.  Grease baking sheet and spread cookies out about 1" apart.  Bake in oven for 7 - 9 minutes.  Decorate to your hearts content!

Skull Krusher Krispie Treats

What you'll need:

Ingredients:

  • non-stick baking spray
  • 4 tbs butter
  • 4 c mini marshmallows
  • 4 c Rice Krispies
  • icing

Our Skull pan is not only perfect for that favorite Red Velvet cake recipe, it's great for our Krispie treats too!  Lightly coat the cakelet pan with non-stick baking spray.  Over medium heat, melt butter in sauce pan.  Slowly stir in the mini marshmallows.  Once all it melted, remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies (and any other extras like chocolate chips or Reese's Pieces).  Using dampened fingers, press the mixture into the Skull Cakelet Pan.  When treats become firm, pop them out.  To add features to the skulls, decorate at will!

Ooey Gooey Mini Caramel Pears

What you'll need:

Ingredients:

  • Little Seckel pears (those damn cute pears in season now!) - or little apples
  • 2 tbs milk
  • 1 pkg unwrapped caramels
  • butter for greasing the pan
  • toppings of choice (crushed Oreo's?)

Take the stems off the pears and insert cake pop sticks into the top of them.  Spray the baking sheet and microwave the caramels and milk for two minutes.  Stir up the caramel sauce and allow it to cool for 5 - 10 minutes.  Dip each pear (or apple) into the mixture slowly and place on backing sheet.  Top with your favorite fall candies or disgusting icing tricks as you like.  Once they are firm, place a few on this festive Halloween appetizer plate (Small Round Glass Plate - Black) for the perfect presentation!

Skillet Gummy Worm Brownies

What you'll need:

Ingredients:

  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 c all purpose flour
  • 1/2 c cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tbs (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 c heavy cream
  • 8 oz chocolate chips or coarsely chopped semisweet chocolate

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  In large bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs.  In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa and salt.  In a medium pan, bring butter and cream to a simmer over medium heat.  Add chocolate, reduce to medium low heat.  Cook, stirring constantly, until chocolate has melted, about 1 minute.  Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes.  Add chocolate mixture to sugar mixture, whisking until blended.  Fold in flour mixture.  Pour batter into two Mini 6" Cast Iron Preseasoned Fry Pans.  Bake for about 20 - 25 minutes to your desired consistency (gooey or cakey).  Cast Iron skillets hold heat for quite some time, so your brownies will continue to bake when left to rest.  Let rest 5 minutes.  \

Adding Gummy Worms:  You can either mash up the center of the brownie to resemble dirt and 'plant' your gummy worms or add a scoop of your favorite ice cream with the gummy worms mixed in and on top!   Careful - the skillets will be hot!   Serve when warm.
